Luxe House Photographic

Welcome –

Here is a little about me……

I have been photographing the people and natural beauty for over a decade.  Every location and person I’ve photographed has a singular charm and presence. My passion in photography is to capture the unique magic of these moments in time for you to enjoy as heirlooms forever.

I started my journey with photography in the era of darkroom processing and printing, thus rooting my understanding of this craft in this method of hand processing.  Since then, my work has taken me all over the globe practicing multiple methods of photography.  I recently attended and taught at fine art workshops in England, France, Scotland and North Carolina.  I am constantly building my narrative Dream Series.

Through my work, portraits are given breath in the print of a memory on paper, in a book, in a frame.  I specialize in nature-based children’s and family portraiture, fine art printing, encaustic work.

I strive to create images that stir and satiate my human desire for connection. Through my narrative work, I search for the subtle and fleeting pulse of the collective unconscious (the threads that are common to mankind as a whole and originate in the inherited part of the brain).   I feed the eyes in hopes of touching a bit deeper, maybe even to the soul.  I search for a commonality in story, archetype, and emotion.

I settled down in Asheville in 1999 and have roamed all over these majestic mountains and down to the shores.  I’ve traveled extensively in Central and South America, sang in a bluegrass band on Ocracoke Island, married, and am raising my 9 year old muse daughter.  A well-seasoned traveler with a lively home front, I am blessed to embrace the many affirmations in this world.

Please enjoy the galleries of my work. If you think we would work well together, please don’t hesitate to call or email me. I look forward to it.

Highlighting unique qualities and capturing the experience is what I aim to do. I choose to focus on the edible and feel fortunate to do what I love, documenting others doing the same.

I shoot food because I love to eat, I love to cook, and I love how food brings people together. It has the power to make people happy, cure ailments, and celebrate culture.

I shoot in an editorial style blending stories with marketing ideas.
